September was a complete wash. Eating right and working out took a quick nose dive once my schedule blew up. These two are like an inseparable pair. Where one goes, the other wholeheartedly follows. So as soon as eating right headed south, working out gladly went down with the ship as well.
After all those chips, fries, buns, and biscuits, I’m focused on getting back in “I don’t eat that way” mode. This delicious and healthy snack ended up on my radar. I’ve tried matcha chai tea hot and it was okay. Creamy and sweet like hot chocolate. I’ve tried matcha iced and it did nothing for me. So this treat is a welcome way to still get the benefits of matcha, but with a few more flavors blended in. As it turns out, a serving of matcha tea is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regular green tea. Wow, that’s a lot of nutrients packed into a small package.

Green Matcha Smoothie
2 teaspoons matcha
1-2 handfuls of spinach
1 kiwi (I didn’t have any on hand, so I subbed blueberries. Which turned the smoothie an awkward shade of brown. Hence why you don’t see an actual picture of it here. You’re welcome.)
1 cup of milk
½ cup of yogurt (optional)
Juice of 1 lime
Blend. Enjoy. And know that you did something good for your body.
